Day 3 in Grampians @ 10:23 PM
Did i mention that in Victoria, everywhere u go seems to be fitted wif aircon? in the morning, certain mornings, u can be freezing ur ass off. i aint toking abt this morning la. but it was relatively windy and cool. my cam outta batt, so charged up last nite and took fotos of our residence. beautiful morning i tell u. imagine waking up to a beautiful mountainious scenery and fresh, cool air on a quiet morning, onli hearing birds chirping and a morning breeze rustling the leaves of the trees. Paradise! brekfast was at the student lodge, where we had cereal, milo and toast, b4 taking a few parting shots and leaving for a 2hr journey to the Geriwald Grampians. we had a few winks on the bus b4 arriving at Halls Gap Motor Inn to deposit our luggages. We then headed for the tourist centre to watch a video on the Grampians. Aboriginal legend has it that there was once a head aborigine who created the whole world and wanted animals and humans to live in peace. He finished everything and onli had the Grampians left. He left the task to 2 brothers. ( i cant remember the names) There was this enormous emu, a violent one, staying at the Grampians. It left an egg one day, and a crow, very hungry, tried to eat it. The emu was very angry and chased the crow all the way. the emu's stamps etc created valleys, waterfalls of the now Grampians. Still, it's revenge quest was unsuccessful. the crow managed to tell the 2 brothers and they killed the emu. they plucked the feathers of the emu into 2 small stacks, splitting the feathers' ends into 2, creating the now emus. of course, this could not be true. the Grampians is a fold mountain. We went up the Grampians to the peak. Maginificant view! the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. We had packed burgers and a drink there for lunch. The whole of Halls Gap and the lakes could be seen from there. it felt absolutely marvellous! we then headed for the lake b4 heading for McKenzie falls. a 1.26km hike saw us looking to a grand, scenic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery. it was sooo relaxing! Mr Soo said "if onli we can hold all our lessons outdoors like this". I agree. We'd definately learn much more den having academic lessons in class. If geog lessons consisted of this, i'd definately take it. I'd prob even top the class! This way of learning is aboslutely marvellous. we learn much more in a much more practical way. class lessons and notes are simply too shitty. its like taking photographs and seeing the real thing. the real thing is so grand and so beautiful, but when u take it, u can onli portray a part of the image in a very downsized form in much less colours. Its simply too different. I sat at a rock and enjoyed the constant cooling spray of the water b4 heading fot the waterfall lookouts. wasnt so impressive since i'd oredy seen the best of the best. but still veh gd anyway. this day was veh hot and dry coz we did some physical activity, so we went to the mini shop there to buy a lemonade popsicle b4 heading back down to the inn. when we checked in the inn, i found a jacuzzi there! the inn was marvellous! it had the grampians for the backdrop too. wah seh! i soaked myself in the jacuzzi for quite a long time. that nite for dinner, i had lamb chop, which was deliciously grilled, although i didnt like the apricot filling. Australian food seems to have a distinct smell that is present even in cup noodles, which geoff and i had that nite. haha. i felt so gd at the inn and combined with the nice simple aussie rock music, added with a touch of techno, prob Kylie Mynogue's, i started dancing when i went to the toilet. juz couldnt help it. i danced throughout the whole trip, at times. haha! We went for kangaroo sight-seeing but they were quite far away. We onli managed to get ourselves acquainted to "land-mines", planted by the kangaroos the nite b4. Guess wat? haha. Our room had a double and a single bed. i took the double. haha. geoff and i crapped a whole lot that nite and onli slept at 2.30. That was after watching a french movie (let me remind u of Australian "censorhip"), eating cup noodles, and more crapping.
